High-efficient evaporation of solvents

The evaporation process can be precisely controlled with the aid of sophisticated pump technology. The chemically resistant diaphragm pump operates without oil or hysteresis. The vapour pressure sensor is used to record and control all boiling points for solvent mixtures. Together with the intelligent PoleStar cold trap, this is the ideal prerequisite to achieve optimal working conditions. The environmentally friendly PoleStar cold trap allows for the freezing of the evaporated solvents at -45 °C. At the end of the sample series, the PoleStar cold trap is automatically emptied (optional) and dried via the defrosting mode. Perfect for the full automation of the sample preparation.

The orbital-shaking (vortex) of the sample decisively increases its surface and keeps it constantly moving. Samples that evaporate at different speeds also present no problems (variable from 0 rpm to 1000 rpm). Imbalance is a concept alien to the CombiDancer. The good thermal distribution quality accelerates the evaporation process. Sample foaming can therefore be reduced. Any potential icing of the sample is thwarted by careful heating.


The Vacuubrand VarioTM vacuum system generates an optimal vacuum environment for work with the CombiDancer. The intelligent control system minimises delayed boiling through continuous adaptation of the pump frequency to the evaporation process. It automatically detects the changing vapour pressure of the solvent to be evaporated and independently optimises the pump’s working parameters.


  • The heating of the sample surface is done with infrared lamps; these are found
    in the sample area in the lid.
  • The heatable stainless steel side wall of the CombiDancer’s inner vacuum
    chamber prevents the solvent from condensing in the sample area.
  • Temperature control for the CombiDancer’s heatable shaking plate is carried
    out at the base of the sample container. This allows additional a dosed heat to
    be applied to the evaporation process.

The CombiDancer is also suitable for light-sensitive or thermally labile samples,
since all heating possibilities are precisely and carefully controlled independently of
one another.
